Dear Parents

I hope that your Christmas has been OK. I am writing to you with a heavy heart that it’s come to this again.  But let’s hope that it won’t be for long. At the moment, the government is saying that the school will be closed for 2 weeks until 18th January 2021.

Online Learning

We return to online learning as of TUESDAY – I have been advised  by LAT to have an extra ordinary INSET day to put plans in place.

You MUST ensure that your child knows their Showbie login details. If you child doesn’t know their login details please contact me or your child’s teacher via email ON MONDAY please not before. I will not be able to answer your queries on this subject over the weekend.

  • Work will be put on Showbie for your child from Tuesday morning.
  • In order to receive feedback you must submit your child’s work by 3pm the day after it has been set.
  • Tasks will be deleted the day after they have been set at 3pm.
  • If your child has not engaged in their online learning we will call you after a few days to check that you are OK

Critical Workers

School is open for any children that have one parent that is considered to be a critical worker. The list follows.

I am having to backtrack on a couple of things as a result of a meeting that I have just come out of today. If you are needing to send your child to school because you are a key worker you do need to complete this simple google form I am sorry! I will not be asking for proof. At the bottom of this letter is the list of critical works for your reference. You do not need to contact me, you can just fill in the form. School will be closed to all pupils on Monday 4th January.

If your child has SEN (which means has had communication with Mrs Adams) and you would like your child to come to school please complete the form above.

Anxious Children or those that do not have access to laptops, Ipads etc

If you are concerned that your child is anxious, you don’t have access to laptops, you will find it hard to access online learning (Showbie) you MUST EMAIL me directly. I will answer these queries over the weekend and I am happy to help.

If your child is attending school on TUESDAY they will need to  :

  • Wear school uniform
  • Bring a packed lunch until you hear otherwise ( I am waiting for clarification on this one)
  • Bring their PE kit
  • Bring their water bottle

I will see some of you on Tuesday. School staff will be around to answer any questions you may have on Monday. Should you need to speak to me about anxious children or accessing online learning please contact me via clare.greene@eastcoteprimaryacademy.org.uk

Best wishes everyone

Mrs Greene
